I note Uncle Larry, that you left off the ranges for the Stars and Stripes!
Now... was anyone up for 1000 yards?

a guy called kenny wasserberger runs a 1 mile shoot in wyoming for black powder rifles.
they get some surprising results.
i would not be surprised to see very little difference between a good black powder breech loader fired by an experienced shooter, and an average smokeless target rifle and shooter at this range.
keep safe,
bruce.

And the Nationals Linda.
Another 1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000,1000.
I,m keen for another go at 1500yds and 1 mile would be even better (as long as the weather plays fair)

Yep Rod, they may break us in gently, but I hear the entry packs have a complementary tube of Vaseline.

Linda after team practice at 1500yds at Coonabarabran, I,ll take that tube sideways and not flinch.
As for calibers. I suspect shoots like Coonabarabran will make the big 7mms and 30 cals with 230gn bullets right at home.
