Had thoughts of attending this one, hoping for better weather than the last time I went there in 2018. But then I find it's the same weekend as our QRA Juniors PM which I like to support, it usually has a good roll up and may rob some of the shooters tossing up with the idea of going south. Then there's the state Fclass trials the weekends before and after, and then I see Krongsbergs mentioned, so not this time... But I hope they get enough for a decent competition!
If it were to be shot on Hexta or manual, I would definitely put the money and time into travelling down. I've just had too much frustrating experience shooting on Kongsberg.
I actually changed clubs from a Kongsberg club 20 mins away to a Hexta club 1h 15m away with tolls. It was worth every cent and minute.
I was really hoping someone from MDRA would chime in and quell the fears. From what I have heard and been told by some high up in the MDRA they are making every step to ensure the ETs work as best as that system can. Including fully refurbishing them to the current maintenance that Canberra RC use and gaining knowledge from them. I for one have been stung in the past from these targets at Malabar and have sworn not to shoot a comp on them again, but from what I understand the work that is going into making these work as they should I have no reservations shooting a Queen's on them.
Hi all, I can confirm that the MDRA have taken ownership of maintenance and are refurbishing all targets to top standards. There has been a committee set up to facilitate this, and they have been working closely with both Konsberg overseas and Canberra RC. The people on this committee are very competent and I do have full confidence that the system will be at a top standard for the Queens. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting on manual targets for the first time last year, but, I am so looking forward to shoot and catch up with friends that I am not missing this. Cheers Daniel

Just wondering Tim, is the range and surrounds in a red zone or Orange zone. Don't want to do 2 weeks quarantine if I go. UPDATE; just checked, it's considered a RED zone so 2 weeks quarantine if i went. So No not going. Geoff
Well that’s a shame, I guess there won’t be many from Victoria. I hope your Queen’s is on this year as I’m looking forward to shooting there for the first time.
