Now you're on the money Bruce. Consistency shot to shot, minimal outlay for one case, no grizzling about machinegunning, no need for time delay arguments on electronic targets and hugely improved barrel life. Ticks all the boxes, I like it. Regards Malcolm.

Did they stop and trim the case every third shot?

I have done some testing of prototype 6 Dasher brass that had small rifle primers with large rifle size flash holes.
Avoid small primer brass with large flash holes like the plague.
Your normal load with Lapua brass will blow a hole in primer where the firing pin hits. This means you will have to back your load right down to be safe.

I have a box of 308 cases here. Waiting for a magical barrel to turn up before I do any testing.

The yanks are raving about the consistency of the cases.
Weighed 20, and 17 of them are less than 0.5gn difference, and aprox 4gn heavier than a Lapua Palma cases.

I had a few Lapua Palma 308 cases that had the flash holes damaged slightly during primer removal. The pin was not ground down enough. Anyway I drilled them to make them uniform only at 1.59mm not the 1.8mm of a large flash hole. The result was a 20fps increase in MV and a slightly higher ES.

The smaller the fire hole equals less pressure on the primer

I have received 200 of the 6XC brass. It's heavier than Norma and I presume slightly less capacity but haven't measured. Haven't had a chance to test it properly yet but 38gr of RL16 was safe in my rifle. Headspacing slightly longer than Norma out of the box but no issue with chambering in a standard 6XC reamer.

How does that work? I take it that a smaller flash hole reduces brisance which in turn changes the shot start and pressure rise profile.

The pressure in the case and pressure acting on the primer in a given case would be same, regardless of flash hole size.

You should contact Donovan on acurateshooter - he has a lot of interesting info in this area.
I've got multiple 10 shot groups holding .4moa vertical at 1k so I don't bother...Lapua case volume isn't a limiting factor to getting consistently under .5moa vert at 1k IME.

Precision Varminting - Beau is bringing it in. Didn't have a whole lot of 6XC brass in his first shipment (1000 pieces only for 6XC but 5000 6.5 Creedmore), it's also the most expensive brass at $250 per 100.

I got some 308 brass and it weighs and measures extreamly well! The best out of box brass ive seen. Even measuring case mouth diameter for consistency and ovality and im only getting .0005" BEFORE SEATING A BULLET!

The headspace is withing .002" which is half of lapua and the only thing i can see ill need to do is chamfer case necks.

How it lasts and the flash holes effect ES remains to be seen but so far it looks very promising.
