Mate I would love to , it’s a challenging range , lovely people, especially Albert ! But NZ has left me a little financially challenged. So maybe settling for Nats again ( I know I’m boring !) and maybe the Qld Queens for the first time !!

Now I have flown with firearms, I’m hoping to get around the Country a little to say hello and try different rifle ranges ! But have to do a bit more plumbing yet to pay for it !

Yeah good on ya for traveling that far at all. Its an expense a lot of us just cant justify or afford. Equipment and bullets are bad enough.

I would prefer electronic targets myself. Can’t be cheated by them, every shot is accurately recorded, no stick on patches that can fall off and cause confusion for the markers. That’s my 2c worth.

I have started another Topic on which eTargets are goodenough for major events.

This is a serious study after years of collecting data and analysis of the impact of less than perfect Targets on the results of a major shoot.

I believe it compliments many comments and questions brought up in this topic.

Can anyone tell me if the organisers set aside an area for blow off or short range sighting shots at the Bendigo range during the competition?

There was a session at 500 the afternoon before the leadup for zeroing etc last time I was there a couple of years ago.

Hmmm, I was hoping more states would take on what NSW did and let them fire blow off shots in a small pistol range nearby, or if no range was available, do what Lower Light does and let us fire a few shots into the butts from 100yds 30 minutes before competition starts. Better than people firing shots on the side of the road on the way there.

Rod the VRA is currently in the process of developing a 100 yard range on the grounds. This will unfortunately not be ready for the queens but would make for a really nice addition next year.
