Great to see you make it Rod. Another good reason to get off my arse. Keep one cold for me and see if I can get there for the main event. (a few more hurdles to jump yet) :D

A minor inconvenience with driving into the range, they've removed the gap in the median strip in front of the main entrance on Old Cleveland Road, so you now have to drive about a km towards Capalaba and do a U-turn at Tilley Rd. Also to go to Capalaba from the range, you need to turn left out of main gate, then take the off-ramp under the Gateway Motorway and do a U-Turn back onto Old Cleveland.

Cam, you just have to remember Rod's shoulders are not as broad as Marty and Steve he can't take the same punishment and teasing.

Go easy on him :p

Can I heartily recommend that you DO NOT try to drink him to death.
Fairbairn and I tried that as a Qld tactic last year at Canberra, and we failed miserably. Roderick thrives on it, so it's just not worth it. !
Although ...........without his tag team teammates.....Paroz, Ferrara, Nugent, Henry, Ridley etc he may be easier picking :D :D

Yep, just remember that.

I am here to do the teasing, not to be teased.

That's right. Without the rest of my afore mentioned Mongrel Mob, I will be a pale shadow of my former self, easy pickings in the nightly celebrations. Who is up for the challenge.

Congratulations Craig on a great first day and a fantastic re-entry after not having shot for 6 months + ????

It was great day for ShooterMcReid too. You and Brent are unreal at the moment. Can't wait to see what you guys do in F-Open.

Any one able to give a description of todays conditions?

Yes, well done Craig McGowan .i After all the last minute hiccups, anxious moments and late nights doing case prep, reloading etc you have earnt today's No. 1 Agg badge I think . For those that don't know him well, Craig is running a new Maddco barrel after some import "issues" left him high and dry, with nothing to shoot till the last minute, and he has basically not shot for 6 months. Then Nev Madden came good with a barrel that was quickly chambered into 284 Shehane just weeks ago and the work began ! Followed by a broken extractor on his repeating action, 300 cases to fire-form and trim......blisters, headaches and no sleep....... I reckon he will probably sleep with his medals tonite
:D :D
Craig also runs the 7mm.com.au website and posts regularly on its Facebook page with updates and photos throughout the day, which is great for bed bound Ning nongs like me who are desperately keen to know scores the INSTANT that they have happened.
The grapevine tells me that Alan Fraser has got his scope issues sorted out after a disastrous start, so look for him to come home strongly tomorrow at the longs.

Yes a well-deserved daily agg for Craig. Rod set a blistering pace for 3 ranges with his Dasher, but his 7mm decided that it was not to be his day. As usual, he has an assortment of "clubs" in his bag, so I'm sure there won't be any similar hiccups in the Queens. As Tony referred to I had a disastrous 300 which appeared to be similar to what happened in the Darwin Queens 800m. I now believe its an intermittent scope problem, because since changing scopes after the 300, elevation has been good. Thanks Shane Green for lending me his prized NXS (I suspect wife Vicki might have a stake in it also :D .)

Cam and Julie were spotted lurking around the range this afternoon, and are intending to join the leadup competition tomorrow.

Scores are being promptly updated HERE

I encourage anyone with a camera, to post photos. We'll leave it till the Queens for an equipment list.

Interesting to note after day 1 Aggs that only 2 points seperate the 4 leaders of the various scoped disciplines.

Josh Reid is on fire and going to be hard just to keep up let alone beat ( if that's even possible ) . My rem ( Betsy!) has come on song again it seems . About to pack up up and leave for Brisbane . B grade standard beat Ftr yesterday and there are some world class names in that field too! I see Barry Blowman who is 80 something has swapped over to scoped rifle . Good to see him beat my mate and nemesis JR at 500 yds. Ron Melligan , whom is I've had good battles throughout the year got the 600. He is a fine competitor and like the rest of them a great bloke . He is defiantly one to watch!

I'll need Major Mojo for this one and I think Josh will be the next Champ! But I'll remain positive and not there to win but shoot my best !

Great to see FTR is getting good numbers!

A very healthy competition in all scoped classes.

Alan, you are the only Victorian in the field, don't let that QLD mob convince you to move north! We need to keep them honest, and I have good faith in your abilities to do so :-)
