About the only thing I have not checked and probably should have by now Lynn is the callibration of my cheap scales (Lyman Pro 500 plastic things), It may very well be that my loads are hotter than I think.
Another thought is that others may have a longer throat than mine causing my loads to be more compressed than others (if this would indeed be a controlling factor).
The main thing is that deviation is low and groups are small.
Examples of groups it has shot are 300y & 400y=1/4 MOA, 500y=1/2 MOA with most of the spead being horizontal because of wind.
Needless to say I am doing quite well in fullbore competition at the moment (some may call it a purple patch) I just hope my coloured success continues.
I commend sites like this one as they are a wealth of knowledge for such a small community.

One of my mates shot a 5" group at night from 1000 yards recently (not sure if this is good or not for that distance) with a 6mmBRX (not sure if that is right name for it) i think it was on a sako action. He has the same smith as myself. He was getting just 1 foot/sec deviation with thrown loads from a Harrel...he swears by it.

Hi that seems a bit hot to me i use 25.5AR2208 and .1 of a grain more pop the primers with an 80 grain SMK and i have burnt my first SS barrel out at 1200 rounds and have ordered another, OAL 2.530"with 80 grain SMK. Bruce

The 25.5 of 2208 is above recommended but mine likes 25.4 (my inch load) and S/S barrel is still going strong at 1700 rounds and still looks crisp.

Hi i have a very long throat on mine and i use WS2 on my bullets. Bruce

I feel as if a long throat on the 5.56mm is the only way to go with 80 grainers; mine is 100 thou if I remember right.
If you like I will try and get the dimensions of the reamer used on mine from my smith.
