Has anyone played with Reloder 16 in 308 with heavy bullets yet? The new new RE16 and 23 have been giving good velocities and ES/SD in other calibers. The new RE16 and RE23 are a little bulky, so you cant squeeze as much in, but they might be worth a try with the 200gn+ bullets. Very temperature resistant as well, not peaky like other double base powders.

Was only researching it last night mate. AR comp is supposed to be similar in traits, temp resistant etc. Burn rate might be a little more suited. Rl16 supposed to be more around 2209 burn rate

Only problem is no AR-Comp in Australia, it certainly would be good otherwise

I run 09 behind my 200s, works reasonably well. I achieve the same velocities as 08 ( more powder of course) but noticeably smoother recoil.
I'd love to go back to Vhitivouri N550 though.
If RE16 is more bulky it's going to run slower but speed isn't everything.

Do you have any issues running 09 with small primer brass Tim?

I'll try some RL16 if/when supply is decent. I have some PP2000MR here too that I may try for laughs. Haha.

None at all Brad. BR4s are my preference but I've shot with Fed gold and blue with no issues too.
The issue is getting 51.5 grains in the case.
