Gee Mike, now you are putting the pressure on, trying to shoot a 62 is going to be fun :D

Personally I agree with you Mike, seems a bit daft to change the rules at this late date. There will be a lot of shooters out there that don't have and probably can't get any bergers.

I'll take along some HBCs to be on the safe side.

Cheers
Danny

But then it really comes down to the VRA upholding the NRAA's rules that they subscribe to.

It seems I am wrong in pointing the finger at the VRA, SORRY.

It seems that the organising commitee has interpreted the NRAA rules a different way to what I thought they meant, meaning that they will run the event using Bergers ahead of time.

As an F Open shooter, I will be very keen to see how the TR and F Standard shooters perform with the newer projectiles!

Hey Danny,

It'll be good to catch up again.

I'm keen to see how those Berger's go in your 308.

Looks like you've got no excuses now, 60's all the way from now on :-)

Catch you on Sunday.

Cheers,

Mike.

Well Danny, the weather was great and the shooting was great. The only thing missing was a few more F Open shooters.

I ended up getting home just before 1am. Checked out the sunburn the next day, I thought I had put on enought cream, obviously not.

For those that didn't make it, the conditions were very similar to last year, with a frontal fishtail and heavy mirage just to make sighting a challenge.

I took a look at one lot of mirage and thought that looks a bit watery, but it can't be too strong.......DOH!!! Inner 4 at 9 o'clock. Two points down on that range :-)

I'd recommend trying out the Marathon for anyone who wants a great day's shooting. With long daylight hours, and an 8:30am start, we had an easy day out at the range.

We had 3 shooting in F Open:
Me
Robert.B
Michael.H

Unfortunately Robert had an issue with his zero when changing to his 7mm, which dropped quite a few points. He finaly got on the target which allowed him to finish off 800 and 900 yards with more respectable scores. After all he was leading after 500 yards!

I think F Standard had the biggest numbers of all. So a well earnt win Danny! Keep up the good work.

I think they had enough badges in TR A Grade, so that each competitor could have had one. I think there was only 5 or 6 entries in TR A Grade.

Good to see Gippsland took out the F Class 4 man teams.

Yep, it was a good day, I'm glad I didn't have to drive as far as Mike, great effort.

Also great shooting by Mike, dropping only 8 points over 6 ranges in some fairly difficult conditions. I might have to get some pointers of you Mike :)

I think there would have been a few red faces the next day

Actual numbers in each grade were:

F open 3
FA 10
FB 8

TR A 9
TR B 8
TR C 5

Well done to all competitors and to the organisers.

Cheers
Danny

Check the date on your badge Mike, looks like I have two Number 1 badges for 2013 already :D
