Yep, I got you John.
The idea only came about through a bit of lateral thinking with regards to putting legs on a Shadtree to make it a "traditional" bipod; that's still in the pipeline. I can't say as I agree with stubby leg idea myself, I was just throwing it out there.

On the other hand this one actually works, dry firing at least. I need to check my barrel in the other stock, then the action will be getting mounted on this and we'll see how it goes with recoil.

It's a bit rough and ready, but I dumped a fair bit of weight on top and it holds position. :)
