Congrats to Rod Rees and Dave McNamara =D> .

And well done by all who made the effort to keep F-Open afloat there. Hopefully a few more from the east will make the epic journey next year.

A little bird told me that WARA do not recognize it as "Queens " for F Class.
Apparently it's called a " championship "

tom,
the same in s.a.
the safca also accepts this.
the actual queens (kings) is for fullbore, and is their tradition. we need to build ours.
of interest is that the first shot in the first queens ever was shot by queen victoria, from a rest, with a long range muzzle loader.
usually state and national championships include the queens.

Hello Bruce,

Agreed, but it does not stop SA from publishing F Class results alongside FB results, does it?

Victoria and ACT ( at least ) clearly have the word " Queens " embroided on the F Class badges. Seems like Vic and ACT recognize F Class with equal status -- good for them.
A reason why we in vic don't need a state F Class association.

Barry the SA badge for F Class is identical to the TR badge (except it obviously says F Class), it very clearly and elegantly says "Queens Badge" FS A, position, year etc. The only difference otherwise it the colour of the background fabric.

Well done to all the shooter at the WARA Queens and congratulations to the winners.

While we're talking about this shocking state of affairs, my ACT Queens 2007 badge says "ACT QUEENS PRZIE". I intend to find out whether the same thing happened with TR badges - this smacks of another extremely serious case of wilful discrimination against F-Class....

I think it means you get a re-arranged prize e.g. an unmatched set of glasses. :-k

We take small steps here in WA.

It should be noted that this year the F Standard and F Open winners walked behind the chaired Queens winner.

This is a big step for WARA. My next step is to have them introduced as the F class winners.

Small steps.
We will get there. :D

Alan,
Jenny's FS badge from ACT in 2007 is the same -- PRZIE.
They got it right in 2008.

When you deal with providers the other side of the world to whom English is not a first language, issues like that happen. The trick is to order far enough in advance so that errors can be corrected - as long as the supply wagon arrives in a timely manner.

Maybe Canberra's dilemma was to issue misspelled badges or no badges at all.

My criticism was tongue in cheek. There is too much complaining about petty details.

I would like to add to Alans earlier comments here. There was absolutely no discrimination against F class whilst I was there. Quite the contrary I found a lot of support from most of the TR crowd and some of their most respected shooters have moved over to F class (Dennis Marsden in particular a new convert). West Australia was without doubt the most welcoming shoot I have been to (and there have been some pretty high standards set elsewhere. I think the website results are purely technical with no bias at all. They just ran out of time or technical glitches at that point of entry. Let's all be a bit patient and I am sure they will come. I think the problem is we have been spoilt by those associations that are able to get them up so quickly that they are almost live.

At the next events I suggest this forum group is a good way of getting results out. If I had been thinking ahead it would have been easy to post pictures of the scoreboard on ozfclass throughout. I will try and endeavour to do so at the NRAA national queens if they aren't on the ball (but I imagine they will be). No reason a phone can't post the scores almost immediately.

In fact if anyone wants to volunteer to post them I can send an MMS or email picture to them. Just pm me with contact details either way.

Cheers Dave
