Feedback is good keep it coming

Maybe I should scrap the Rem 700 barrel and action idea and look to something a bit more accurate like a Maddco Barrel for my AI stock

Even my Pop said Maddco barrels are the way to go!

I have only shot target big bore a few times, with no sights and no bipod so this is all new to me, hence asking these questions.....

Total weight for F Class rifle is- 8kg for rifle max and 10kg for Rifle, scope and Bipod....is this correct??

A friend of mine has been refused a B709a import permit for a stock because it looks like a military rifle, by a very long streach of the imagination I might add.
As the current ADF sniper rifle has an AI stock letting a civilian have one of these may well be verboten

So if you want to import one of these make sure you have the necessary import permit first before you pay out hard earned $

On barrels, they are all good, with some not so good, no matter what the brand name it seems. Dont get stuck on the brand name merry go round, it is a pointless exercise.

Use what you can get in a sensible timeframe, and at a sensible price. Once the name is forgotten, all barrels look the same on a rifle.

In case you decide on a Tobler barrel, just be aware that they are not guaranteed unless fitted by the manufacturer.

Just to clarify this point, no, the total weight of rifle with scope, is 8kg, then complete rifle + bipod is 10kg.

Thanks for the clarification on weights Lynn

Next Question who do you suggest I see to build my rifle in WA ?

Was told to speak to Roy Alexander or Dave Felton, any thoughts on this...

Hilly,

I believe Bill Hallam is putting out some very good rifles over there.

Bill is the number one man here, pretty much no doubt about that. He is most fastidious about how rifles shoot, I like Bill, he's a good man. He armoured the rifles for the AU Palma team to Canada 2007. Bill shoots FS and FO when he gets a chance.

Time is not on Bill's side (like most accomplished G'smiths), so you might not get his attention for some time....I strongly suggest having someone introduce you to him at the range, then speak to him about what you have in mind. On Roy Alexander, Bill only does single shot target rifles, nothing else...sort of self explanatory.

At the same time, you can speak to Dave Felton. Dave is also a very nice bloke, and incidentally, last years WA Queens winner. Dave makes a beautiful stock.
