To get things back on track i will ask another question ,how many shooters do you think each state could put forward in FO and FS state teams ,ime sure this wont be to far away,Paul.

Paul,
I would think a maximum of 3 for F-Open - but probably 2 to be sure. This would give all states who run F-Open at Queens a reasonable likelihood of forming a team.

It would be good at Bendigo for starters if VIC is the first to adopt it ,and then the challenges can be put out to other states ,6 man teams for fs and two or three in fo , and soon i hope , just my thoughts, it will happen and why shouldnt it ,someones got to set the pace,Paul

Two shooters in FO is not a teams match ---It's a pairs match. C'mon guys and gals, if you cannot do better than 2 or 3 you need to take a hard look at which direction FO is heading.

Barry,
The intention is to have a composite team, so F-Open would be 2 or 3 in team of 8 or so. Would you prefer that F-Open was excluded?

Cmon Alan, you know me better than that.
Chopper said " 6 man teams in Fs and 2 or 3 in FO " I take what I read literally. If that's not what it means then pls enlighten me. Composite teams are not on --either FO or FS stand alone.
Which target would a " composite" team use??

just a thought , it may sound crazy but if open teams of say four shooters happens, could we allow shooters where necessary to shoot twice to get it going or something like that????Paul.

Barry,
We use composite teams in our Pennant series. As for targets, each team could have one of each. I'm not saying there wouldn't be some extra trouble to go to, but wouldn't it be worth it to ensure that F-open isn't excluded? All States likely to field a State F-Class team will have F-Open shooters available.
Composite teams may not work if things need to be done exactly as for the TR State Teams, but with a little compromise and lateral thinking, they will work.

Settle down there Barry

. Where did I say shooting twice?? I said one of each target per team i.e. a standard target for F-Std, and an open target for F-Open. If each team had say 2 F-Open and 6 F-Std shooters, they would all shoot once at each range at the appropriate target. Scores could be counted as a simple percentage of possible (unless of course F-Std allows their target to get the silly count-out V which is being discussed).

At the request of chopper and to make the discussion real, the VRA would like to announce that we are committed to hosting a National F Class Teams event at Bendigo in 2009. We have approached the NRAA for approval and have received positive feedback. The format of the match has not yet been decided and we welcome constructive opinions from members on what they believe would satisfy both disciplines and the various States.
Kind Regards
