City versus country is on today at Belmont .
Obviously I'm in country f standard . Today is 2 details at 300 , with 2 details at 1000 shot at tomorrow . Both 10 and 2 sighters.
Hopefully I can find my mojo and carry some form from Crows Nest . Last week at Dalby i flopped with a 104.1 😂. So see how I go !
I'm hoping Tony Berry will give a good rundown of the competition as he has in the past and done a terrific job .
Up the country team ! 😊 G S

Just to give a bit more insight with Tony's score.
He had three shots in the middle that went low . Of which one went into the 4 ring ouch! He had to correct half a minute up to get back in the 6 ring . Must have been an unexplainable load issue 😳. We all hope he can regroup for the 1000 yd in the morning . Because maybe I'm very biased but he's one of the better shots around . G S 😃

Good morning everybody , it's 6:15 am . Today is 1000 yd match between city v country . 2 details with 10 to count and 2 . Yesterday I shot two personal bests at 300 yd . Of coarse would have been good to have shot possibles as that's the only time us f class shooters r happy!! I've only shot 1000 yd 5 times before this . I have a new rifle setup ( built by pesco ) . So I only know my dope in theory and is untested 😁. Previous score at 1000 was at the Nats last year hear and I think was 46 flat 😞. So a little scared ! But as one of my famous club mates said once "what r u going to do? Only just shoot a bad score! " so don't worry about it !
The conditions yesterday were readable but tricky at times . At least the wind was coming from the same direction. But went from nothing to half a minute left wind and a gust or two that was better than that .
Jason Meyers and Mark Fairbairn really show they r among the best in the world ( I hope to beat them today 😝) by shooting some consistent good scores . L Tillack also among that group and Josh Reid ( a young man to watch in the future ) throwing down a first round 59.3.
Well I'll try and keep a better track of scores today! GS

Well a 58.2 a bp for me and a tie for second at a 1000 . The second detail , the first 2 shooters on the board were cut to shreds with fickle winds. My team mate mr Berry was in this pack and need more hugs and sympathy again . I know he'll be back to his best , so watch out ! Lol.
Thanks to city who won and to J Breeze and all of the officials for putting a great comp .
For me I shot 3 bp's and even that 52 would have won the 1000 at the Nats last year in b grade . My little rem 700 hunting rifle is on fire . C u all later , keep safe and God Bless! 😃

Good stuff Graham Sells from Dalby/Tara RC . And a big hanks to veteran shooter Dick Blocksidge who was our Coach for the 4 ranges, and also Lowell Tillack who didn't hesitate to step up and fill in so that Dick could shoot himself
Yes, I had an "interesting" couple of days at Belmont.
Shot my 6 x 47 Lap at the 2 x 300 on Sat.
Happy enough with 59-7 first up, but the 60-10 that I intended to shoot in the second string turned into a 55-2
About 5 shots on, and everything going OK, till I shot a 5,4,5 and had to adjust UP a full half minute to get back into the 6 ring. That has never happened to me before, in the middle of a string, so still scratching my head about that
Went home and cleaned that one, then screwed in a Maddco 284 Win barrel and loaded up some fresh ammo ready for the 1000 yards today. I was actually happy enough with 57-4 at the first 1000, as the winds were a bit testy. Hoped to do better the second attempt, but got a pretty rough patch and got up with 51-2
I would have probably considered having a tantrum and belting myself, but Lindsay Crombie who won the F Standard Champion of Champions yesterday morning shot a 51-0 at exactly the same time
we just got belted by Belmont, I think. I can't blame Dick, our wind coach either, coz I had more vertical issues than wind issues !!
Just one more reason for me to get off my bum and make the effort to shoot 800 - 1000 at Belmont at every possible opportunity.
It was great to have two new, younger shooters in Josh Reid and Graham Sells turn up, AND do very well indeed.
Hopefully next year we will see a lot stronger effort from Country shooters to make the effort. It's a great chance to experience wind coaching , combined with a bit of fun, great cameraderie, and chance to have a crack at a win over that "Bitch Belmont ".
Thanks also to John Kielly for the RO duties.
It was a lot of fun, but also a very good strong win to the City Team. Fairbairn and Lewis would make just about any F Class team picked on planet earth, and lived up to their reputations today, but there are 5 in each team, and they were very strongly supported by Corey Lang, Jason Mayers and Lindsay Crombie......plus with 15 to pick from you were able to discard some lower scores. Congratulations on a good win. We will do our damnedest to make you work a bit hard for it in 2015

Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.
