light river prize shoot.

Post by bruce moulds »

this shoot today had 80+ entries.
lately in s.a. 60 has been a massive shoot, and 40 not bad.
possibly the fact that the weather was perfect, and everyone had itchy trigger fingers had something to do with it.
let's hope it is a sign of the second coming.
of interest is that under very difficult conditions, a young lad dropped only 3 points to win fstd, while many got carved up. he even got a 60.8.
this was better than open.
keep safe,
bruce.

Yeah, can't remember the young guys name, but think he was from Loxton and he knocked off his old man !!! very impressive… another point of note was Matt Roberts converting to TR and holding his own !! well done.

Cross Dressers !!

For the record the young guys name was Chris Dicerbo and he was noticed to have shot extremely well at a recent State Team practice day as an invited junior as well. Yesterday I think he dropped just three points to take the win in F-Std AND took out all three range wins as well. Went home with a boot full of goodies with his "L" plates on the car and proud dad in the passenger seat. Not sure but think Dad ( Frank ) finished a close second to Chris so I am sure we will see a lot more of this family in the results lists in days to come.

For fun and a different experience, Paul King and Matt Roberts changed hats on the day. Paul took over Matts F-Std rig and, despite his thoughts, shot very well for his first time at bat. Said he learnt a lot about wind reading and, although he is a confirmed TR shooter thinks F-Class has a lot to offer in this regard.
Matt shot Pauls TR rig for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Organisers made him shoot in "B" grade on the day where he finished 12th in a field of about 24 shooters so a good knock for a first outing. Dropped just one 'bird' at the last range ( 600m ) in a testing patch of breeze. Back to F-Open next week but a good time had by both guys and respect earnt for both disciplines I think.

Regards............Jeff. Roberts.
