Vic Queens 2014

Post by John E »

At today's VRA Council meeting, it was decided to include F/Tr, with badges and a prize list, in the 2014 Queens Prize competition.
Look forward to seeing a good roll up of F/Tr shooters.

G'day Geoff.
Yes, it will be the full deal, or else we wouldn't put it on. Badge numbers will depend on the number of entries --- I would expect around the 30% mark, although that hasn't been officially decided yet. And I should have said that the entry fee will be the same as last year, for all grades.

There seems to be a bit of a groundswell of interest in F/TR. Too bad that there is so much division and indecision about the F Std A Fsd B and F/TR
classes.

You have to wonder why we can't all just get on together, don't you?

Congrats to the VRA for continuing their tradition of supporting new F-Classes. In 1999 the VRA Queens included F-Class (Open), making it the second (after Queensland) to do so. Then in 2002 F-Std was included at Bendigo ahead of all other Queens. Now it is one of the first to include F/TR. Maybe some of our Queensland forum members could put the question to your council? Particularly because you have a good number of people shooting F/TR?

Anyway, well done VRA - I hope we see a good number of locals and interstaters in the field. If anyone wants some practice ahead of the Vic Queens, F/TR will be fully included at Rosedale at all our upcoming events, being the 500 Yard Sweepstake on December 7, 1000 Yard picnic shoot on Sunday December 8, and OPM on March 22 and 23. We struggled for F/TR numbers in these events last year, so any new F/TR shooters will be welcome, and will have good odds of getting trophies e.g. a Christmas ham in the 1000 Yard.

Yes, Congratulations to the VRA for looking forward.

I personally don't see any division between any classes of shooting, I just love the shooting.

There is a Queens winners' honour board for F Open also being prepared.
Good to see some positive comments. Thanks.

Hey John, that is great news. Now that our numbers have improved, it will be a welcome addition.

Hopefully there will be a Champion of Champion's honor board too.

I would think so, Mike. We'll get to the stage that we'll have to build a bigger shed to put them all in.

Bigger Shed

A bigger shed, now that's a good idea.

A shed can never be big enough.

Sounds like the F/TR fraternity are the winners here! Roll on progress.

The only issue I see, is that RodM may shoot F/TR instead of F Open. He just loves those juggernaughts.

Bit of luck we may see enough interest to keep it going and have it as an inclusion ever year.

Good on the VRA for giving F/TR some respect too, of offering it as is, not lumping them in with F Open or F standard as was done in Canberra the last couple of times.

Dont forget Bacchus Marsh (no 11) in January either, they are offering F/TR for the first time too. Only support will ensure continuation.
