F Open at Bathurst OPM
Hi gang,
The Bathurst Rifle Club AGM is coming up in the next couple of weeks, at which time we'll be deciding the program for our OPM on 26th October.
It has been suggested to the committee to include F Open in this years program along with F Standard A & B grades.
So, my question is, If we include F Open in our program how many F Open shooters would be interested in coming to the Bathurst OPM in October?
A show of hands from all F Open shooters that would try to be there would be appreciated and if the numbers are there it would give us more "ammunition" to put to the committee.
Cheers,
Graham 8-)

How times change,
I remember turning up at Bathurst on Fathers Day 2004 with my youngest son(shooting TR) to shoot what was advertised as F class.
Surprise, surprise. No FS at all! Only FO
Shot FO on the 10 ring target with an old Omark 308W that I had taken just to try a new load.
How much has FO improved?
Must be a huge amount as I took one 500yd range and only fell short of the Aggregate by one point.
If I remember correctly, the shoot was held on Fathers Day so that shot gunners nearby(?) didn't take that date.
Graham Bright would remember the reason.
The wheel has turned full circle.
It is a great day which I don't get to attend as much as I would like.
Ray.

Hi Ray,
Sorry for the late reply, been away for a few days.
Yes, times have changed.... and at Bathurst I think we all see the need to change with it, which is why I posted the question.
We would love to cater to all disciplines and grades but like most small clubs, the OPM each year is our major source of income and while we know we need to keep up with the changes we also need to justify the cost of including new disciplines/classes/grades.
Personally, although I shoot FS, I'd love to see FO included but unfortunately it all comes down to the numbers.
So Ray, will you be at Bathurst this October... if so, will you be shooting FO or FS?
Cheers,

If I still shot the 'that' Omark then I might be tempted to shoot FO.
If I can, then I will be there shooting FS, albeit in a diminishing form for want of Match practice.
I think that last year it was pouring rain here in Orange so assumed it was doing the same in Bathurst and stayed home only to find that Bathurst was fine.
Will have to ring up for a weather report this time.

TR - A, B & C grades
FS - A & B grades

I'll post full details and the flyer as we get closer to October.
Would still like to hear from all that plan to attend.
Thank You,

A bit more news for F Open and FS B graders....
The Blue Mountains DRA AGM was held last night and it has been decided to add F Open and FS B grade to the next BMDRA OPM to be held Feb. 3rd 2014 at Lithgow.
I was also asked by John Baxter to let you know that the same applies to the next Lithgow OPM coming up on Dec. 1st 2013.
So that's 3 more OPMs to add to the F Open calendar.
I'll post full details and flyers as they become available.

Open for various OPMs
Great news grey ghost. Good to see other OPMs supporting f class open and f class std grading. As I have said many times no load to carry. Don't forget to include www.nswfclass.com.au in your publicity. Cheers John S
