Davies Trigger Adustment Please

Post by littlebang556 »

Cheers Stu,

As we speek I have been forwarded detailed instructions from Adam with promise of drawing tomorrow.
Adams fast response is a credit to the reputation Davies has worldwide and one of the main reasons that I opted for this brand.

Regards

Discount

Post by littlebang556 »

John,

My sentiments were actually sincere :(
But you obviously know him better than I.
I would rather a great product at a good price than a discounted piece of crap.

Regards

Rob

fortunatly i dont get to shoot it on a daily basis as it's my sidearm for work(armed guard), i do however get the chance to put 80-100 rounds through it into a fist sized hole on papaer  when the work schedule permits. now all i need is the time to have the omark painted and to get on the range.

Why would you expect a discount? A man is entitled to a fair price for his work, and Adam supplies a very good product at a very reasonable price, and his back-up service is excellent. I have sent triggers to him for an oil change and grease, and they have been returned within a couple of days, so that the rifle is ready for use the next weekend. That kind of service is pretty hard to beat.

Never a truer word said. Other than perhaps that a man/[woman] is entitled to a fair days pay for a fair days work!

As a distributor of gear imported from overseas with a network of resellers, I routinely discount to them and provide all the after sales support. This is par for the course. But the other day someone attempted to screw me down severely to the point where I simply declined to do business. Some reasons are a) I don't want to go out of business, b) other customers don't want me to go out of business, c) I need to eat, and not least of all, d) there is nothing to be gained from under-valuing your product.

I would imagine this applies to others also, like Adam & Barry.

The other trick (mainly by large companies in my experience) after screwing a hefty discount out of you is to make you wait 2 or 3 months for your money. I have one customer (who fortunately doesn't purchase a lot or very often) who seems to have a policy where they won't pay until after the first or even second "friendly" reminder notice. And this is always after 60 days.

So if a product/service is worth paying for, pay what it's worth (and promptly). Otherwise it may not be around in the future... ;-)

Sorry - I guess you hit a nerve. The issue of discounting - and pricing generally - is one I and a few colleagues of mine are quite sensitive to.

Of course I deal with Adam, usually on arcane oneoffs & to be sure, he doesn't soak you.
