David, you are clearly one of those "talkers". We spend a lot of money in Australia sponsoring events, helping clubs, shooters and the associations. This is in time, money, materiel, etc. We sponsored a $4000 rifle in our last Queens. What do you do for the shooting sports?
My guess is: complain a lot, after turning up late, having done nothing on the range, whinge about your range fees, whinge about the cost of a beer at the bar, whinge about the markers etc etc. Our sport has too many of these people already.
This is the reason you have so much time on your hands to make pointless remarks. Time for you to be quiet so the thread can continue.
Anyway, back in the real world, I still like HBC bullets in preference to the SMK.

I have had a lot of sucess with the HBC in .308 since I started using them and while they are cheaper I will buy them.
BUT if the price structure was reversed the performance difference and patriotism wouldn't be enough to induce me to pay an extra 14 cents per shot.
I am all for buying Australian but there is a limit i.e. if we don't make it, the quality isn't there or the price isn't realistic.
I actually spend the bulk of my projectile budget(NRA is less then 10%) on Taipan and Hawkesbury products- 100% Australian and competitively priced- I am sure there are others.
Just MHO.

Woody a pointless remark started this Little "Bitch fight" as for your last remarks you no nothing of my club or what I do for my club, stick to what you know, I have clearly hit a nerve from your uniformed personal attack, but my first question remains unanswered. Good on you for sponsoring the sport, but sponsorship is not a selfless act. I will give you one thing you are great entertainment
On the subject of the thread I shoot mostly HBC, but had to throat out to .115 free bore before I got constant results pushing close to 3000fps seem to take a bit of working out does any one agree?

Good on you Dave, you have weathered some "un - Australian comments " which are all untrue.
Good shooting,

Here it is Chopper, These loads are for my rifle and I'm not recomending any one use them, loads should start of low and work up.
We fired HBC's then 2156's, when we had a group going I just changed to the 2156 ammo, a shot from another group shot latter has been rubbed out, the rifle is an RPA barrel Krieger .3065 1:12 fitted by Mark Sewell
No scope or rest used. The HBC's where jumped about 5 thou.
The target shot on was an ICFRA target, I also shot both HBC and Sierra both with 46.2g 2208, i am not recommending a load , play it safe and work it up. i had the dyer just in and the Sierra 60 off, shot at 300y and 1000y, seem to be much the same, the only difference which may seem a strange statement was ime sure the Sierra was softer in recoil, i think you found the same David ?maybe the lesser bearing surface reducing pressure ? but it was apparent, i guess the ogive shape would contribute to that as well.
