What would you recommend as the best calibre for Queens ranges over 600 yds?

Hello from the states!
For those of you that shoot straight 284 Win, which cases do you use? Do you fireform or hydroform or just use the available brass?

Welcome kbla,

Most here would use Lapua 6.5-284 brass necked up to 7mm with a mandrel - no need for forming.

As Alan has indicated, 6.5-284 Lapua brass necked up to 7mm. My set up uses a tight neck so I have to neck turn my brass which also helps manage the donuts which would normally form.

Actually I prefer my 6x47lapua at 600 yards over my 7mm and 6.5mm variants.

Up to 600yds it is the mighty 6BR for me and past that I have finally conceded the need for a 7mm unless conditions are good...
That said, I have won F Open at club level with the 6BR competing against the Dasher, .284, 7SAUM, 6.5 Creedmoor and nearly did it two years in a row but burned out the barrel and dropped down on the last two rounds and was beaten by a competitor using a Dasher and 7SAUM combo that I was ahead of till the last...
Now put a 280AI on the mound over 600yds and may convert to the 7-6.5 PRC if I can get a magnum bolt made for my action.
Have Eric Cortina's reamer from Manson so it is just a matter of time and ADG is bringing out some ready to load brass in 2024... No more necking up the 6.5 PRC..! =D>
