Graham I found 230 hybrids went okay in my 300 Rum using AR2225 and Fed 215mag primers at 2900 fps with 26inch 1/10 factory Remington barrel. Very good long range performance.

Remember Sierra 230gn Matchkings have even higher BC than the Bergers so are something to consider for long range fun.

Rod
The Hornady ATips claim BC which I did not believe however were right on at 1650M according to my program.
They were a full 2 1/2 moa higher than the 230 H Berger that day at slightly lower Vo than the Berger too!
I have never been been a fan of Hornady match pills but these A Tips are very consistent in weight and base to ogive
Plus they don’t need tipping or meplatting

Well I’ve changed out the 338 edge barrel to the 300 rum , ready for 215’s . Interesting enough is that the hornady 208’s have a bit better bc’s .However this has been put on the back burner as I’ve started my turbo ford Barra build for the family daily drive Terry!
I’ll try and get behind the gun this weekend ( on my private sight in range ) .
I’m worried about the 230’s recoil with 8 kg rifle and no brake ( I’m a chicken lol!) . I’ll show the groups ( I know only wankers post groups on forums lol! ) .
Regards Graham.

Hey Gents,
Just build a 300 RUM in a Kelbly Action 1/9" Twist Kreiger barrel so once shes home will be ready to work some loads up, be intereting to see how everyone went with their load development with one of these.
