After the amazing roll up at the Queensland Queens, How many will be turning up for the NSW queens?
F Class will be shot on paper targets.

I'm looking forward to shooting the lead up and the Queens.
Hoping Alison can shoot the Queens, but she has assessments due on the Friday.
I have to come up with a reason why she cant be at school. At worst, she will be shooting the Saturday and Sunday.

I'm predicting a closely fought battle for 1st,2nd and 3rd places between you 3

Things may turn out different if anyone else rolls up....
Some bad news for you : Rod should be there.
I won't be there this year but wish you all the best.

Time to see how my 6BR holds up in the longer ranges. Never went beyond 600m with it.

Now that I have the Blue Beast (6x47) , I will come for the Mac and do some load development, and if i think its ready ill shoot it in the queens, if not it will be the Saum.....

Aaww come on Tim. I may have some personality issues, questionable hygiene and poor attitude but I did not think it warranted this.
Yes I hope to get there for the 5 days. The weather forecast is looking good. No rain, warmish weather, some windy days, some calm days to mix things up. It should be a good shoot.

First day of the McIntosh results now available.

Interesting wind at the 600 metres played its part in the scores.........

Congratulations to all F Class shooters irrespective of discipline/grade for their results in the NSW McIntosh.

I had the pleasure of entering scores over the McIntosh into the NRAA system. We have a great asset here and a system to be fully supported by all aussi shooters and their respective state and territory associations.

Conditions were challenging for the entire event - wind from various directions and I assume drop offs at the wrong time! Entering the results I often noticed an X,6 then a 4 or 5 then perhaps a series of 6 and Xs.

There were no F/TR in the lead up. About 5 at this stage for the Queens.

The first three places for F Class:

FA Std - Geoff Willis, Peter Drew, Rob Halloran;

FB Std - Robert Bartlett (a great shoot Robert!), Matthew Pedrana, Cedric May;

FO - Rod Davies, Steve Rigby, Andrew Beavis.

Andrew a great shoot with "Bluey".

Conditions very good today Norm, particularly at the end of the day. We started at 300m with light westerlies and some mirage, then an unusually steady moderate to strong westerly, then later it died down and switched around to east, becoming strong but very steady in typical Anzac range fashion. It would have been tricky during the switchover, which was quite short-lived, but otherwise, if you could hold good elevation, then a good score was there for the taking. One notable feature of the day was unfortunately problems with manual marking. Some of them appeared to be inexperienced and inadequately trained. Some shooters were seriously disadvantaged. I think NSWRA would have to be a bit disappointed with the F-Class turnout, particularly of interstate shooters. On the other hand I think the Ben Emms factor has been good for TR numbers.

Regardless of the all the above, shooting still wins through and most of us are looking forward to another couple of enjoyable days shooting on this great range, which BTW we're told is looking quite secure again in terms of land tenure, which in my opinion has more to do with the Shooters and Fishers Party than anything else.
