I think that was a fair call John, well done to you as not many people would think about scorers concentrating on their mobiles rather than scoring.

The Queens badges went back to 15 place for F Open at QLD due to the entries. Big ups to the QRA for looking after us again.
Anyhow, I predict that Bartman will be the next new F Open Queens winner at some stage in the next year or so.

That was a well deserved hit by Craig given all the behind the scenes work he was doing all week. =D>

Don't like to be negative here isn’t that a lot of badges for 37 competitors  20-25% seem more reasonable
I do not now why the NRAA don’t put out a guide to the S&T on the number of badges awarded would be great to get some sort of consistency with these things
and have a base say 3-4 and all other badge sent out after the event as we all now the organisers dont have a crystal ball

There is more to it than just a 60.10.

According to the target marker, it was the tightest group he had ever seen. Apparently, none of the shots were anywhere near the X ring.

BTW, I did see the flags do that a few times. For about 2 seconds between a fast direction change.

I think they were just trying to make it look fair as TR A grade had 50 badges for 99 competitors.

Craig's 60.10 was a great feat! A pity his campaign was hampered by a bad scope.

There were the odd brief patches that presented and allowed shooters a slim chance to do good.
I put down a 59.6 in 2minutes 26 seconds, and the marker went with me. We really had great markers, which is a credit to the QRA for organising!

Not much has been said about Cam and Julie, however as usual they were in the top bunch. With Cam leap frogging me on the Friday night.

David Goldberg will be one to keep an eye on in the future! A great start before he had to go back to work.

Looks like that Cessnock mob need to have a handicap applied to them at entry. Maybe a bent wind arm for each club member could suffice 8)

I think both Bellie and Marty are feeling relieved. Kelvin used his car to see how well built Marty's gun case was. It seems that it is airline luggage handler proof as well as able to stand up to being run into as well  Great design Marty!

Looks like Canberra will be a busy range this year. Hope to see you all there! This time I gather Rod won't be so shot out, and will give us all a score to chase!

In regard to badge numbers, it did seem a bit much. They become less valuable as the numbers increase. 25 to 33 % seems a good number.

As for prize money, similar parity would be good. $250 for first in open with 37 entrants, versus $2000 for first in TRA with 99 entrants and $500 for first in TRB with 37 entrants. Of course there would be some sponsorship targeted at TR only, however I don't understand how the values are derived?

A well run event, i know why I'll be going back again. Cheers =D>

Matt and Bart my comments aren’t a swipe at QRA and I know it hasn't been taken that way.
wouldn’t it be a better system nationally that the Badge percentage is the same the same goes for any prize money only if this comes from entries any additional sponsorship from individuals or companies should go to whomever the sponsor wants.

PS congrats on the full bag Craig

Echoing others comments. It was a great competition. With 37 in Open our sport has now well and truly taken hold. I always believed this would happen but these things can take time.
I feel FTR will grow and like F Open, may take some time to gain a foot hold. It must if we are to be on par and better of course, than the rest of the world.
The conditions at Belmont were very trying with only very brief patches of easy reading. In fact I heard some well known shooters say at times the conditions were unreadable.
My good wife was complaining that she could not shoot 60's. I just said to her just keep doing what you are as consistency pays off. This proved me right as the agg. is what counts.
Like Mike W (Bartman) has mentioned there were many memorable moments. It was great to see people helping others when things went wrong etc, etc. Marty camped with us and I could tell before we fired a shot that he was not in the "pilot mind set". Many of us who went to Raton have gone through a downer at some time since coming home. For me it was when I got home. I did not want to go to the range let alone fire a rifle. I tried as Julie was ok. My scores were shit and I just was not enjoying shooting. It has taken about 6 months for me to get some fire back in the belly. It may be hard for some to understand, but the huge amount of behind the scenes work before Raton, the trip to Raton and the competing at Raton was a huge drain mentally and physically. For myself I got through with the help of adrenalin. After the shoot all that adrenalin was used up and I was worn out. I would advise people wishing to attend the next worlds to think about this. I feel a debrief after these shoots is a must. Remember you will only get out if you put in. I can tell you now from the F Open's Team perspective we put in a huge amount of work and we were lucky as we came away with the spoils. Please understand I am not saying the FTR Team did not do likewise, as I was focussed fully on the Open Team.

Congrats to all the winners and everyone who competed. :D

Hopefully next year we can get to some shoots south of the boarder

How things change! I shot as a 20 yearold in the 1961 QRA Queens at the Enoggera range, 303's of course. It was a State team year and there were 643 entries. I came 26th, but there were only 20 badges!

Yes that is interesting Greg
there seems to be a view that the more badges they award the more compeditors will attend
