Rod,
I understand what you are saying, but in some ways its a contradiction, by saying that i mean you started out saying that our sport is all about skill and wind reading etc. By allowing any projectile doesnt that take away from the level playing field we have now and head more towards deep pockets dictating the advantage. Just a beginners opinion of course. I would have thought that restricted ammo has more of an affect on performance than say using a rest over a bipod.
It's an interesting subject thats for sure. I just hope we as in Australia decide for a change to stand firm instead of bowing down to foreign pressures as we always seem to do.

I hope you're wrong, if this goes through (wont be surprised why would the NRAA actually ask anyone) I would suggest it would cut FS numbers in half, with a declining membership, as Barry said it would be sucide. If you want unlimited bullet weight and better wind drift you have it with FO and you can do it in comfort without a 8.25 rifle belting the shit out of you.
I guess it's one way of boosting open numbers !!!

Matt,
I think personally if things were to change i would switch to FO, for the simple fact that i was drwan to the sport because my ability dictated my results more than anything else..... I like the fact that in F Standard the major factor between winning and losing is you ( the shooter). To me i hate the idea that again we are influenced by outside instead of standing proud with what we have created!!!

Rod (Davies),
Thanks for the blog. Congrats to Marty, Kel (6.5mm
) and your good self. The general standard in F-Open at 1000yds was not as bad as either F-Std or TR in my opinion (e.g. F-Std top score 47
).
Tell me this Rod, what calibre did you use at 1000. You didn't mention your 284 on the Queens equipment list, so just wondering?
Alan

I have started a post on F/TR vs Ozzie F std in the general forum.
Alan. I used my 7mm for the longs.
The 47 score in F std was during one of the "good"!!! patches, the other scores got much ,much lower.
After some unpleasant problems with markers with my Dasher at 600yds, I put the little gun away for the rest of the shoot.
Besides, with the little rat gun, I would have been holding 1 target over on some of the shots at 1000yds. About 3 shots into the 1000yd target, I was starting to think about building a 30/338 lapua to launch 240 grainers.
