Muckadilla , Queensland OPM "Unconfirmed Gossip Only&qu

Post by ecomeat »

Muckadilla OPM was held on the weekend, and was apparently a very good show for all concerned.
For those who dont know Muckadilla, its a small town on the Warrego Highway a bit over 500 klm West of Brisbane and its yearly OPM has gained a good following. Some 43 shooters turned up to compete.
When you get to Roma, you have still got another half hour or so to go.
This is all unconfirmed at this stage, and if anyone has Scoreboard photos they might post them on here, please.
In F Open, professional traveller and FCWC shooter Mark Fairbairn had a good win to make the long trip worthwhile. I heard he may be showering his lovely wife with flowers this week, after getting an hour west of Toowoomba on Friday, before realising that his ammo was still sitting at home in Brisbane. They met on the road near Toowoomba some hours later, and Mark went on to take out the Open Badge. All is well that ends well !!:D

In F Standard A Grade, Emile Daniel from Natives Club at Belmont shot very well on his Annual Muckadilla holiday to take out the No.1 Badge. Emile has been supporting the event for years, and reckons he was so surprised at his win that he cant remember the other placings. Rumours abound that he will be tested by ASADA today for any illegal substances that may have assisted.

In T/R it was apparently a really good battle that saw Ben Picton (Super V Shooting Supplies) from Mungindi take the event out, with Colin Cole in second place.
Extreme accuracy and precision shooting at long range can be a very addictive pastime.

Thanks for the update Tony. You must have spy's all over the country.
I hope Mark remembers his ammo for Raton. Might a bit harder to turn the plane around.

Cheers

LOL Cam

Makes the fact he forgot his team tie in Bloem a much smaller problem...

Cam, :D
i dont think a lot of shooters realise how many others are actually quite interested in hearing how everyone went at various events when they cant get there themselves.
Equipment Lists are nearly guaranteed to be of interest too.
I am just happy to do my bit to spread the "news". I reckon Alan has got one of the very best blogs in the whole worldwide "gun world" with ozfclass, with so many talented shooters prepared to share info etc, but I know how hard it is to keep things rolling and keep the site interesting at all times.
I dont think he minds a bit of a hand now and then (HINT< HINT>HINT to all of the 40 odd shooters going to the FCWC.........get on line and help Alan to keep the thousands of us back here in Oz up to date)

Tony,

I will have web access at night in Raton, but also about 2 hours reloading nightly  . I'm not sure how well they'll make the results available to us - hopefully it'll go straight onto their website - for the main event (FCWC) they already have the (empty) results pages ready for downloading! (see http://www.fcwc-usa.org/ )

Alan,
If you can comfortably cover the actual daily results in Raton, that should mean you have about 40 willing assistants to help get you info on Equipment, gossip, scurrilous untruths, inside stories etc etc to keep the rest of Australia entertained while you go about your daily business !! I am pretty sure there will be a good number of shooters here in Australia watching anxiously and genuinely wishing you all well !!!!
