Bloemfontein, South Africa
Has the Team for South Africa been formally announced yet ? I havent seen any lists posted anywhere, but if anyone has a copy, I would love to know who is heading over to shoot for Australia at Bloemfontein.
I gather they will all be packed and ready to leave later this week, so here's hoping that the winds are kind and that our intrepid travellers do us proud !!
Also hoping that someone might post results on here and/or on Linda's "Team" site so we can see how they are faring.
Good luck to all.

Hi Tony,
The team is small, but we shall do Australia proud.
Captain: Linda Shehan
Manager: Jenni Hausler
Mark Fairbairn
Cheryl Fairbairn
Bob Kinnear
Mike Samuels
Stephen Sharp
Barry Southern
Mark has already departed, to enjoy some hunting. The rest of us fly out on Friday.
Scores will be found on the SABU website.
http://www.sabisley.com/
Should be listed under the SA championships.
Internet was patchy last year, but we shall do our best to keep you informed.

Thanks Linda,
Thats great info.
I am sure a lot of us will be looking at scores as often as possible and wishing you all the best for a great trip and a successful competition.
I will be keen to hear if the South Africans are still shooting their 7mm Toombi's, or if they have gone over to 284 Win and Shehane like so many others seem to have done.........or even the bigger kickers like the 300 WSM.
I know you will all be busy, stressed and worn out once you start shooting but lots of us back here in Oz and cheering you on would reeeeeeeeeally enjoy a good Equipment List if such a miracle could happen !!
Thanks and GOOD LUCK.

The team had our first practice on range today. Extremely happy with how all gear and ammo is running.
Coaches have done a wonderful job today in tricky conditions.
Now heading home, past giraffes and zebras.
An interesting comment from the team last night. We had not even fired a single shot, yet they all say they will be coming back next year!
They are all having such an amazing time.

Congratulations Cheryl Fairbairn. 3rd place in the Freestate match, which was her first ever competition!
The rest of the team did team practice today, because Cheryl had never shot in a competition, it was decided that she would benefit from the experiance.
Look out South Africa! The Aussies are here!
Individuals start tomorrow.

Congratulations Australia!
Bronze medals in the Southern International Challenge.
Silver Team USA
Gold South Africa
My team here is fantastic, this was certainly a great lead up to the Worlds for me, because anything that could go wrong ... did!
But what a day! A truly awesome experiance that will see us learn plenty to help us with possible Worlds issues. This alone will be priceless information to the AU team.
This team traveled without official wind coaches, and I would like to thank Jenni Hausler and Mark Fairbairn for an outstanding effort in very tough conditions.
Thanks also to Barry Southern and Mike Samuels for stepping in and coaching our coaches.
I have a happy team here, that has been given the day off today, so we are heading up to the Kimberly for some sightseeing.
