Championship 800 Aiming Marks

Post by AlanF »

The ones we have don't like moisture. They stick together if not kept very dry when rolled up, and even light rain washes the "ink" off. Also the black is quite glossy which can make strikes difficult to see. Our 300 and 500 aiming marks are okay (same quality as standard aiming marks).

Does anyone have 800 aiming marks which DON'T have these problems, or are they all from the same source?

Ditto your comments. Went to put a new 800m aiming mark on on Saturday and found they had all stuck together. Tried to wet them to unstick them and the ink ran. Bought from NSWRA.

Hi Alan are these printed on paper if so the supplier has not supplied a suitable product for the proposed use they should be returned and the supplier take to task.
Cheers

Michael, RB,

Thanks for the responses. My main priority is to get some decent ones, so if anyone has got 800 champ aiming marks that are as good as the 500s then I'd appreciate some info on where to get them.

Alan,
I got some 3/5/600 yd champ centres from the VRA a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps they may also have what you are looking for.

John,

The ones we have did come from VRA. From what I've seen, all centres and other aiming marks are okay - its just the 800 aiming mark that has the glossy black which "dissolves" very easily.

Hi Alan

The ones we have seem to be fine, matt black and stable. Unfortunately, this may just be because we haven't purchased any from the latest batch. Have you contacted the VRA, they may not be aware there is a problem that needs fixing. I'm unaware if we all source from the place but you could perhaps contact Paul at SARA and get him to have a look at what he has in stock, from what you say they should be easy to pick.

Hope you sort something out, it sounds like a very frustrating problem.

Sounds promising Lynn. The fact that there exists some which are okay means someone else is printing them, so I'll do as you say and contact SARA. Thanks.

Still Not Getting Anywhere

Post by AlanF »

It seems all 800 aiming marks are originating from NSWRA, but my E-mail got no response, and the web ordering facility is broken, so does anyone have a reliable E-mail address (other than info@nswra.org.au)? I believe the store manager is a Peter Eisler.

Thanks for any assistance.

Alan
