just wanted to put a shout out to Ken from copper head. With the shortage of match bullets aus wide and seeing only bits and pieces mentioned about copper head here I thought Id send Ken an email.
Was asking about the 6.5 140VLD and some measurements to see how they would go in my freebore. Instead of measuring for me Ken asks for my Post box and is sending a few bullets to me for free so I can check them properly in my rifle!!!!! How damn good is that for service I couldn't believe it. I will be buying some copperheads just on principle with that sort of service.
How about some discussion about these bullets I know Gsells had a few posts there about the 7mm doing well, there is stuff all discussion on the net about them. Anyone tried the 6.5 140 VLD how did they go for you I know the BC on Kens website states .605 how did that measure up for you. How did you rate them (6.5mm or the 7mm compared to a berger??
I'm surprised at the lack of talk about these projectiles considering we may as well forget about berger bullets coming into aus.

Re: Ken from Copper head
I cant help with the 140s, but I am using his 130s in my new 6.5x47 and am very happy with them.
I am certainly keen to try his new 184gn 7mm pills when they come out.

I tried some of the 130’s today.
The hybrids shot great in my rifle the Vld’s were not quite as good.

September last year Ken sent me some trial packs of the135 & 140's from his new dies to try in my 6.5 x 55 Rogue. Both shot as well as I could on the days that I shot them. As I did not do any load development for the owing to limited numbers, I shot the 140's with the load I normally use behind the 139 Lapuas. As to the 135's I cannot remember what I used. The 140's shot a little better than the 135's but I put this down to no development. I was happy with the results and will certainly use the 140's when my supply of Lapuas run out. Unfortunately I probably still have at least 12 months supply of them. Am thinking of getting some of the 130's for my 6.5 x 47. Rod what sort of load are you using in your 6.5 x 47?
Cheers,
Trevor.

140gn 6.5VLDs show a lot of promise with .68MOA at 100M
Will be buying a larger volume when some cash frees up. I still have a supply of Berger 6.5VLDs but I’m going to stocking up with copper head when the opportunity and cash allows.
Great product and Aussie made!

I have a supply of 139 scenars and some 123 scenars which shoot well for me out of my 6.5x47l. I have no real reason to try different except that I like to tinker with stuff. Have loads worked up for both with 2208 and 2209 I also have a bunch loaded now with some reloder 16 to try next time I can get to the farm along with some 130 berger VLD with reloder 16. Think I will order some of kens 140 vld to try once he sends a few to see how they will seat in my chamber.

Left to right 123 scenar, 139 scenar, 130 berger vld, 140 copperhead vld.
The 140 copperhead is more similar in shape to the lapua scenar than the Berger 130vld it has a notciably smaller boat tail than the other bullets.
