Cantilever Target Machines
Does anyone have a set of engineering drawings for the construction of cantilever target machines?

Bob,
One of our members made up our cantilever target frames. I'm sure he had engineering drawings to work with. I'll ask, but may be a couple of days to get back to you.

If you can get in contact with anyone from Raglan in a Qld, these are the best target frames I've ever pulled. They aren't Cantilever frames though. We have Cantilever frames at Clermont Rifle Club. I could take a few photos and rough measurements if you'd like?

The principles are pretty straight forward. If your stuck I can sketch up a drawing showing the key points.

Bob,
I've used different cantilevers at ranges in several states but we have recently built a modern version of the old style pulley and counterweight type, and they are faster and easier to lift, and probably less expensive.
If you're interested I can send more details.

Re: Cantilever Target Machines
Thanks to all who replied. Will pass on to our committee at weekend and will get back to you all.
We have electronic targets, but our target machines that hold them are falling apart. They were built in 1908. Also SSAA are on our range and they are keen to build some new target machines for their end of the gallery.
The range originally had 15 targets. The RC has 5 remaining (3 x electronic and 2 x manual) on left hand side of the gallery and the SSAA has 2 x manual on the right hand side which they can use at 300 yards.
PS: the RC and SSAA get on very well on our range and we frequently help each other out.

may be Scott from north arm rifle club could have some information
Sorry I won't be much help. When we went to 8 targets we just pinched 2 frames from the 700 butts.

Bob try SARA talk to Paul Gale we should have what you are looking for and plans should be available
IMO the type Alan suggested are superior and I agree would be cheaper to make.
The Targets at LL had issues initially with the frame flexing this had to be reinforced.

In this video (link above) the target system is shown
hope this helps

I agree. The Raglan targets mentioned earlier in this thread work on the same principle and are a joy to operate.
