Tassie Queens??

#1 Postby scott/r » Sat Mar 10, 2018 10:04 am

What's happened to the Tassie queens with numbers. Have the ammo laws on the boat over there made this big a difference? Or am I missing something else.

Not an ammo problem with only 12 Tassie shooters present.

I don't believe there is any propellant powder being shipped to Tasmania anymore?

The following is stated on the application form.....

"Competitors entering these events are advised that they are Registered Competitions and therefore competitors travelling on the Spirit of Tasmania can apply for an Exemption re the ammunition limit. A letter indicating that a competitor has entered any of the above competitions can be provided on application to the Tasmanian Rifle Association via email or telephone: (03) 6424 2217 or 0437 940 648. A list of competitors may be supplied to the TRA for teams, groups, etc."

So shouldn't be to do with ammo limits.

I'm wondering if it's to do with targets??

I'm unaware of any complaints last year regarding their choice of electronic targets but there has been a lot more discussion and testing since then.

I'd be interested to know who / if anyone has decided to skip the TAS Queens because of the ETs they are using??

8-)

I think the "ammo limit" and the plain old price of the paddle boat is what stopped a fair few.

Misinformation is maybe a bad term but there was alot floating around.

As far as I know it's still coming in with no issues, and a new powder magazine has been opened recently in the north of the state.

You are allowed 10kg or 250 rounds per licensed shooter which is enough for the Queens without needing to apply for an exemption.
