Great to see a longer range, longer shot string OPM being put on instead of the usual 10 shots at 3,5,600

With you there Rod,though the shorter range ones have their place historically and with some of the shorter ranges we have. Not long home from Stawell, where the Australian and Victorian Match Rifle Championships were held, four days of fifteen shot matches,1,000,1,100 and 1,200 yard matches every day, then a 20 shot match at 1,200 yards on the fifth day, after that there were teams matches and State Team Matches.I realise Match Rifle and Long Range F Class may not be for everyone but 800,900 & 1,000 yards ICFRA events should be an important part of our programs and with 15 shot matches also, all that ten shot matches do is train you up to fail at 15 shot matches.

Lock in the next Long Range Nationals for October next year at Coona and you will have your wish will come true, there is bound to be a 50 shot pairs match (no sighters) at 1200yds on top of plenty 15 & 20 shots strings at 1000, 1100, 1200 & 1500yds,

Pleasing to see some great scores at the longs. Well done to the Gippsland boys across a number of classes. Solid performance Albert, Marcus, Ross and Brian in the winners circle over the couple of days. Bigger things to come. Great to hear Plumbs make it south for a couple of days shooting and take a range and Anthony too.

Hi David , I’m sorry I didn’t get to catch up with u ! Maybe Vic Queens?
Well Bendigo is a tough range . It makes Muckadilla look like kindergarten! That last 900 today was just plain hardcore!! I really enjoy tough rifle ranges but after dropping 3 fives I was very nearly in the Northarm fetal position , sucking my thumb and saying “ Mumma “”!
I somehow put gathered up some courage together to only drop 5 but with a low x count ( was really just trying workout the conditions) . It could have been a lot worse like dropping 4’s and 5 ‘s ( I was thinking that a score in the 70’s was a real possibility?.
Very tough with most details going out beyond 15 mins on average!
I met a lovely group of people with great hospitality!! Thanks everyone for a good time and Well done Albert a great win! Also thanks Marcus for teaching me a thing or 2 about stolles !!
Also congratulations to the other winners !!
Regards Graham Sells .
