f you are looking for something different, try a 22br with a 1:7 barrel running 90grn projectiles at 3000 fps at present has 3000 rounds untouched and still shoots .2

I've shot both the 6 Creedmoor and the 6x47 Lapua. Both on F Class guns and PRS style guns. The 6 Creedmoor has a little more muscle then the 6x47 Lapua. In a 23" barrel with 41.7gr. of H4350 and 105gr. type bullets I was hitting 3000fps. and that was a good everyday working load.

The 6x47 Lapua with 39.0gr. of H4350 in a 30" barrel with 105-107gr. bullets your looking at about mid 3000fps. to 3100fps. If I remember correctly the shops F class rifle was hitting 3100fps. In another F Open rifle with 115gr. Bergers I was getting just over 3000fps. with 39.0gr. Think it was 3030fps. average.

I don't like the .243win. It's even harder on barrels then other 6mm's. In my opinion your lucky to get 1000 rounds out of it.

The 6x47 and the 6 Creedmoor I'm going to say 1500 tops for good accuracy. I just got feedback this week on 6 Creedmoor from ammo testing that they got 1400 rounds out of the test barrel in controlled conditions. Keep in mind the type of powder and bullets, how the barrel is being cleaned etc...all effect barrel life.

Any of the hot 6's are hard on barrels. Doesn't mean I don't like them.

I just shot the shops F class rifle for the first time in 8 years. Shot the newer tipped 107smk's and my first target at 800 yards I cleaned it with a 150-8x.

The 6.5's will be easier on the barrels. The bigger bore size vs. case capacity is what helps.

I am using a 6x47 , 108gr bergers at 3140fps. Its a 7.75 twist bartlein. I only use it in comps, and have another barrel ready for chambering as I am halfway to frank's 1500 estimate. I am using 40.8gr 2209 with no pressure signs. I dont think there is any point going hotter than that.
