G'day All. I took the stock out to the range today and shot the .284W at 600y.
The stock performed really well, it glides in the bags smoothly and holds great vertical. I love the low profile keeping the barrel between the side bags and the front bag riders are so sweet for stability. Really happy with it.
Some key differences from now to my first video trial are:
Added a little weight to the butt.
32" straight profile barrel v's the old 30" tapered
A new SEB bigfoot with 1" spacing between the ears instead of the old 19mm spacing
Overall weight up to 9.1kg
Also completely free recoiling this stock with a decent length of tracking has got rid of the bad torque issue that I had in my first video trial. I tried to video it again today but only got about 2 seconds
I haven't done anything to reduce the amount of flex in the forend that I felt was excessive at the first trial which obviously isn't a problem when free recoiled as demonstrated by the great vertical it held today.
I'm a gluten for punishment because now that its drawn to an end, I'm thinking about the ways that I could improve the next one.
