Re: NSW MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Pleae see the attached flyer for the NSW Match Rifle & Long Range Championships at Ungarie in May.
Further to the information on the flyer below, the championships will be shot on five Silver Mountain electronic targets so you will need to ensure that your projectiles are supersonic at 1200 yards.
For those of you who wish to camp, camping is available at the local footy ground which has an ablutions block and is a short walk from the local hotel and only a few kilometres to the range.
To aid the organisers if you could contact either of the contact numbers on the flyer via text message and leave your name, email address and if you are planning to attend the Friday afternoon practice that would be appreciated. We will send out an entry form in due course.
If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Chris

Re: NSW MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
UPDATE
Five Silver Mountain electronic targets have been installed at Ungarie thanks to the work of Dave Xuereb, Chris Halloran and Dave Waters.
The targets have been calibrated and are functioning perfectly back to 1200 yards.
The weekend of the 4th and 5th May is looking good.
BBQ lunch on the range both days. Supplied by Russel Lemon & Wife of the Ungarie Rifle Club.
If the bowling club will be open for Friday and Saturday dinner and Sunday morning from 7am for breakfast - which is excellent value.

Hello Chris had planned on being there again this year but my former work threw a spanned in the works with a broken finger on my last week. Probably not going to be shooting for 6 weeks or so.

Also a huge call out and thanks to Mr John Dixon for spending all day on the mower getting the range ready for the Match Rifle Event. I am sure its a lot of time on the mower when you have to go back to 1200yards.

Re: NSW MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Just a reminder that this event is being shot on Electronic targets and require a target face velocity of 1220fps at a minimum. I have listed MVs for a few popular bullets and cals for an idea but obviously if your chosen pill flies like a brick, Id suggest inputing your data into a ballistics app to ensure readable impacts on target.
22 Cal; 80gn ELD 3050fps, 90gn Berger 2940fps
6mm; 105 Berger 2900fps
6.5mm, 130gn Berger 2800fps, 140gn Berger 2700fps
30 Cal, 155 Berger 3170fps!!! 185 Berger 2850fps, 200 Berger 2660fps.
Dont forget Swan Barrels are up for grabs for the class winners so if your MVs are a little low its time to lean on it
See you there!!

Re: NSW MATCH RIFLE & LONG RANGE F CLASS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to all the winners.
After the Saturday was washed out due to 25mm of rain falling between 4am and 5pm it was decided that a very ambitious 4 stage day be held on the Sunday with a 10 shot match at 1000 yards followed by 20 shot matches at 1000, 1100 & 1200 yards. With 33 entries shooting started at 8am and finished at 3:30pm. A fantastic effort by everyone involved considering the very tough conditions particularly at 1100 & 1200 yards.
A huge shout out to the Ungarie RC and David X and David W for all their work in installing and setting up the Silver Mountain Targets that worked brilliantly. The targets were set up with a 5 second delay, a decision that was received positively by most competitors.
Thanks to our major sponsor Herrons Security and Sports for their continued support of match rifle and long range F class shooting along with new sponsor Swan Barrels.
