#1 Postby RDavies » Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:36 pm

A friend is after an extractor for his Musgrave action.
Does anyone have one or know where to get one?

I’m not sure if the Mauser 98 will fit, we don’t have one to compare it to. If you could check the club guns it would be much appreciated

I'm pretty sure Musgrave is still going in South Africa. You could always ask them if they still have them available mate.

So they are, I thought they had folded years ago. I will get him to check in with them.

If you are successful, can you let me know please? I have a mate who has a Musgrave that should probably get a spare also.

Hi Rod.
Extractors between a mauser 98 bolt and the musgrave are all but the same
We have two musgraves. One is the same, one has a more tapered end. I would think it would take maybe a little grinding to adjust at the most.
Cheers

Great, thanks for this. I will let him know he will be able to touch up a Mauser 98 extractor. This will be much more readily available.

Good luck with that.........I am almost certain it will not work, whilst the extractors are the same essential design the tolerances are quite different!!!!!!
