With the newer VLD and hybrid type bullets what is the ideal throat. Throat angle as defined by PTG reamer print as I'd call it the lead angle but they'd know better.
Also two other measurements which seem obsolete to me are the length from boltface to "throat" and the diameter given at that datum. Wouldn't that length and diameter be a result of the lead length and throat angle making those measurements redundant?

The "standard" PTG throat angle is 1.5, I've been using 2.5 with no ill affects on accuracy and longer throat life.
