Re: 6 mm Dasher
Try 33.0gn of 2208 or 2209 35 gn and work on your way up watching for pressure signs. Yes vlds supposed to get into the lands, but this is not always the case!By mistake I had vlds 0.033" off the lands and I was very happy ,but when I went to the lands, my group opened up.That was with my rifle of course.I hope I helped.

55gn into a Dasher ??? If you're lucky enough to force that much into the case, you're going to blow yourself up !!!

Jan 30 2015 has this question page 14
Couldn't work out how to put it here.
36gn of 09 might be closer to the mark

Hi mate, read this.

My BR is loving .060 jump with the 105 Berger VLD, My .284 likes .090 jump with the VLD 180.
Cheers.

Re: 6 mm Dasher
You might try 2206H. My latest two bartlien 5R barrels would not shoot 2208 or RL15, but love 2206H. Start at 31.5 and work up. Mine settled on 32.0 for 108 Bergers and 32.2 for Berger 105 hybrid. A clubmate with same barrel and chamber is shooting Berger VLD with 2206H with sucess.

Re: 6 mm Dasher
I've never found "on the lands" a very good place to be for accuracy with all of the cals and cartridges Ive loaded for.
105 VLD's always were happiest .015" jammed when I use to shoot them. I'd be looking at seating depth first if you haven't already.

Re: 6 mm Dasher
Agreed "just touching" is not where you want to be, try some 15thou IN and some 15thou OUT. In particular you dont have to jam hybrids or boat tails, although I note you have VLDs and the common strategy among most successful shooters seems to be that they are best jammed. Still I would try some each way and +/- 0.4 gr load as well. Thats 6 loads to test
id quod est

Re: 6 mm Dasher
I would say 55 gr 2209 is a typo ! 10-15 thou jammed seems to be more common. Can also try orings mid barrel to short circuit reflected vibrations too?

Second the use of 2206h, it does very well in the dasher. Start at 31gr. I found the sweet spot around 3015fps with 105 hybrids.

Re: 6 mm Dasher
35 of 2208 is still hot in a dasher! Most run around the 32-33 mark. Or around 36 of 2209.

Re: 6 mm Dasher
If you can include a chrony of some sort while testing will be valuable in deciding what loads are good
