This has probably been done before but it's new for me so I thought I'd share.
I used an electric guitar pickup spring (dimarzio brand) to hold the centreing cone in place rather than pushing it with my fingers, the spring is tapered and quite firmly holds it in place but is still easily turned and moved for different lengths.
My apologies if this has been covered to death previously.
