Hi all , I was just doing a little research on another respected web site . Where they claimed that they were getting 2950 fps behind Berger 180's in a straight .284 ???? With Rl 17.
Any thoughts on this other than stuffed brass and worn out barrels ?
From actual experiences , is is temp stable , does it produce low sd and does it live up to what it claims ? I Believe it is made in Switzerland ?
Regards Graham.

Re: Reloader 17 has anyone used it ?
Graham,
I have used it, but gave half the bottle away. For me it didn't seem to produce higher velocities for the same pressure as promised, and more importantly velocity variation was unacceptable. I haven't heard of any F-Open shooters using it regularly. Also I had a bad experience with another Reloder powder, in a RL-22 bottle, but about the same speed as 2209 - much much faster burning than it should have been. So now that Vihta Vuori is unavailable, I'm buying Australian powder.

Re: Reloader 17 has anyone used it ?
I acquired one can of RL17 when I first was starting out my 284. I never even opened it as I got good results straight away with ADI. Exchanged it for 2213sc. Even it was a satisfactory powder its supply in my neck of the woods is so sparodic whereas ADI is always available. Have however had good results with RL15 in my 6.5x47 so bought a good quantity of the same batch of that.

I changed from IMR4831sc (don't know the ADI number) and changed to RL-17 with good results. RL-16 has just been issued
and I am in the process of switching over due to better temp effects.
QL claims same weight as RL-17 gives same velocity and barrel time!
