hunting question- 6 Dasher over 6 BR- whats your opinions?

#1 Postby ogre6br » Wed Dec 27, 2006 1:28 pm

HI
I'm building a 6BR hunting rifle.

I am after some opions on using/making a 6 Dasher instead as a hunting rifle versus staying with the 6 BR standard.

Those of you with Dashers

Have you ever tried some of the lighter weight projectiles in your Dasher? if yes what sort of accuracy and velocity results did you get?

In my hunting BR I'm planning on using something like a 65 V-max or 68 BR or 70 NBT for vermin/small ferals and roo's on permit.

How much extra velocity do you get with the dasher over the standard 6 BR with the heavier projectiles and in you opinion would that translate to the same increase in speed with the smaller projectiles?

How many extra grains of powder do you use over standard 6BR loads?

Approx how long does the forming take? ( I take 300+ rounds on hunting trips)
What sort of accuracy have you got with fireforming loads?

Thanks

later
P
