HI
I brought PB's old Master sporter in 6.5x55.
I want to start competeing
So far I have a rifle with a 20 moa rail fitted.
What else do I need equipment wise to begin competing??
What is the closest club to Mount waverly in Victoria that I can go to??
PestB what load did you used to comp with in the 6.5??

Hi Ogre
I used 44gn of 2209 and 139gn Lapua Scenars, stick with them as you need the higher BC. I think the velocity was 2850fps.
Check the VRA Store for a F Class by pod and get yourself a rear sand bag and fill it tightly with heavy sand.
I had a Simmons 44MAG scope on it when I started, the 20min rail gave me all the elevation I needed for all the ranges, they have the turets for windage and elevation and AO for your paralax ajustments.
I hope this helps Pat.
Cheers

There may be a couple of clubs closer, but I'd recommend either Lang Lang RC or Fitzroy/Caulfield RC (at Glen Forbes) - both have a few F-Class shooters who would help you with getting started. PaulMcc (Lang Lang) and John E (Fitz-Caulf) are both members on this forum so you could PM them to tee up a Saturday shoot.
