Howd'y,
Who uses the Lyman Ceramic Media to Moly Coat Bullets?
Does it mark the bullets and leave a fine texture on them?
Is ther a better Media to use?
Thanks.

I use the Lyman system and get great results.
Have found the better the projectiles are de-greased the
better the finish. I soak my projies in metho for at least 3-4 days
then drain and allow to dry for a day or two, if there is any dampness
on the bullets the moly can tend to clump a bit and the finish will be
affected. After moly'ing, 3 hours is plenty, I put the coated bullets in
an old bath towell and GENTLY roll them back and forth to burnish them
up and remove any loose moly. They come up like factory coated
Bergers every time.
I think one of the tricks to good moly coating is to do it in hot weather,
I tumble mine in the garden shed in the afternoons when it's good and hot.
cheers,
Chris

You can never carry too much ammo...
unless you are drowning or on fire.

Save sometime and effort by running the bullets through a tumbler with clean media for 3-5 minutes rather than wet cleaning them with metho or shellite. Simply use a soft cloth or towel to remove any dust before coating.
ps
I have done both and found no difference in results with the dry clean method for bullets.
