It will be competitive, when necked down to 6mm.

The 6.5X47 was produced by Lapua to compete directly against the 6X47SM made by RUAG for 300m shooting
The benefits are that it should run at higher pressure with the inherent accuracy characteristics 6BR
Tubb 6XC brass has had quality problems the dasher is 6BR shoulder blown forward resulting in very short neck the case capacity of 6BRX47Lapua IMO is perfect for the heavy 6mm projys
I did have a few wildcats on the drawing board 6HLS/ 6Inter /6Long Lance and 6X
Now that lapua have come along and produced this case I don’t have to muck about case forming.
I don’t think this case is any thing wildly different it just taken all the good things with other wildcats and rolled em into the 6.5X47Lapua case
Cheers

Re: 6.5 x 47 Lapua
Hi Cameron i have just got off the Lapua site and the 6.5X47 was developed in with the Swiss company that developed the 6mmX47 swiss seems to be dased on same case but with small rifle primer. I obtained a big no. of 123g Lapua,s in a deal (cheap) , so am hoping this cartridge will put them to good use.
