Very close but different enough probably the biggest difference being the small primer.

Mate tried a new barrel in 6.5x47 lapua this arvo. Shot a very tight group at 300yds. 123g Scennar's
No load development, so it looks very promising.

G Day Bruce. A mate beat me to it. He does his own chambering. The last time I spoke to Nev he said he was bringing a reamer in from the US. Will let you know when he has it.

Some good groups from load development for the 6X47Lapua 107SMK's (no time to test 115gr Bergers or 115gr DTAC's)
Testing was done at 300metres on the worst possible day trees were being blown over and roofs lifted and expensive chronyies on 1500 diam spread tripod blown over as well snapped the plastic arms
all groups water lined .5MOA or better for 5 shot groups tried Rem7 1/2 CCI 450 /BR4 primers didn’t seem to make any difference to the group or chrony numbers did try jams 5th 10th 15th and 25th seemed to work best @ 10th and 25th 2900fps and 3000fps groups well
Will be using it at the shorts in SARA queen if it doesn’t blow to hard so we will see.

My 6x47 is now up and running. I have only tried 105 Lapua's and getting great results. Accuracy is on par with 6br but with with higher velocity, around 3100fps.
Shot 99 and 100 at 300yds yesterday on home range.

Hi Cameron me and Belly are buying our own reamer and i have 500 hand made 115 HPBTM bullets made for me by a mate of mine here in Brisbane, i have a 3 groove 1X7" 30" No7 Lilja going into my 700 sleeved Remington there is a 6 to 8 week wait for the reamer it going to be a tight neck one from Pacfic Gauge andTool are you using small flash hole Lapua cases? Did Nevell do yours? Bruce

My local gunsmith used a couple of different reamers to achieve a 6x47 Lapua chamber with 269" neck. We also rechambered a set of Wilson 6ppc dies. So a little ingenuity saved on a new reamer and dies.
All the 6/6.5 x 47 lapua brass has small primer pockets.
Do the 115 projectiles need 1x7" twist?

Regards, Cameron[/quote] Hi Cameron i think you will need a1X7" twist as they are1.3135"Long Sierra107 1.229"115 DTAC 1.295" and 142HPBTM Sierra6.5 are 1.296". I am going to use 22/250 sako brass which i have 300 of they have large rifle primers i don't think it's going to make much differance to long range shooting accuracy wise. bruce

Bruce, did you consider trying 6/250 based on the 22/250. It would be quite similar to the 6/6.5x47 as far as case capacity goes.
The big difference with the 6/6.5x47 lapua is the small primer pocket and this combined with the quality of Lapua brass makes it worth trying.

Hi Cameron i was going to go with a 6mm/250 AI but can't get a F/L Die for it, i also like the David Tubbs 6mm XC as you can get F/L Dies for it but was talked into, one could use Lapua cases with any of those chambers all that needed is to run the case through a F/L die and trim to length, if you wanted to use small rifle primers but with heavy bullets i want to use AR2213SC and i don't think small rifle primers are good enought to burn AR2213SC. A 22/250 body die would probably work and if the neck touches the inside of the die I,m sure you take out the small amount required very easily.
