Equipment List for NRAA Queens

Hopefully lots of people reading this will be competing at the NRA Queens , and the Leadup event, which starts next week.
I will be trying to hand out a blank "Equipment List" form to all F Class shooters, so that Alan will have the info required to publish it here on ozfclass.com for the information of all interested Members.
Could you please take the blank form, fill it in within a day or so, and then get/give it back to me ??
Thanks folks..........it wont take long to fill in, but when we collate all of the gathered info and Alan puts it on-line it will benefit our sport.

what a great idea for any new shooters wishing to know the sort of preperations to have when attending competitions

Don't forget to mention taking extra rounds just in case, wether it be a cease fire with an optional sighter, or an ammo test, or a shoot-off.
Just my TR thoughts. It follows to F Class.

No need to check FO or FTR ammo Phil but good advice shoot-offs can be interesting with out any ammo

Hi Richard - no need but sometimes it happens.

Last Year Denis Mc had a 6.5*47 pulled at the Nationals and I have heard of it happening a few times before.

No reason, Just a random ammo check without realization that it was an FO rifle.
ie ro walks the line and pulls a few random names off the board and grabs a bullet from the ammo box - Denis didn't bother arguing at the time and just kept mind on the job - it has happened more than once though and is worth being prepared for and letting it slide at the time rather than getting worked up mid shoot.

The point I was making Dave is that you can't cheat in FO or FTR I always take more ammo than I need to the event I have already had to be involved in 3 shoot offs at queens events mostly with the nemesis Big Al

There may be FO ammo checks in the FCWC because of the ICFRA rule saying no calibre changes during a long range match.

In addition to the random ammo checks: Open does have a limit at 8mm, so if someone is "clever" enough to use a 338 then they could get caught.

How about the situation where you have bumped the shoulder on a bunch of cases when sizing, rendering that batch of ammo not able to be chambered! It's only when you hit the firing line that you find they're too tight to close the bolt on. It has happened to me once back in the 90's, and it's not fun.

I always take twice as much ammo as needed, for both calibers in the event that conditions are good I'll use the 6mm a bit more! And vice versa, use the 7mm if the conditions are rough.

If the crown gets damaged or I'm not happy with how one caliber is performing, I have the option to run with the other as I have enough ammo.

Actually, the two Queens shoot-offs involving Richard and I were on the old F-Open 10 ring target i.e. no tiebreaker ring. Ironically at our last meeting in the SA Queens, we would have had another shoot-off if it wasn't for the Super V count. I hope there will be more close ones Richard!

Humm interesting point Alan can you believe that how often does that happen?
Bart I always run my brass through my chamber for that very reason
its all a learning curve and it doesn’t matter how long you have been doing it there is alway some thing to learn.
I had a nice lesson the other day a an OPM in the lead after the first day the first range on the second day crossfire ya gotta love that.

i have always loved watching alan and richard compete.
it often comes to a close dual.
two great shooters and sportsmen, and long time stawlarts of the sport.
i was in a shootoff with them both once, and had the giant learning curve of locking lug recesses full of 2209 due to low neck tension and letting the rifling seat the pill. unloaded at an inappropriate time and had about 20 seconds to fire my shots after getting functional again.
it was an unexpected honour to be shooting with them that day.
shootoffs have diminished in number bigtime since going over to the super v target.
