Rem SPS action suitability for target shooting?

#1 Postby jquin » Sun Apr 09, 2006 9:09 am

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew whether the action on the Remington SPS was the same quality at the varmint models. I was hoping to
do the old trick of building a target rifle around a trued Rem700.

Hi,

I cant see why the SPS action cant be made good by truing it up a little. I think most of the imperfections can be removed by being trued up. I am having a rem 700 action trued up for a 6mm br project, i have been told there is little between a trued action and a custom like the bat or stollie.

cheers,
mitchell
Firepower usally means an increased number of misses per minute. 50 misses are not firepower. One hit is firepower
