Mark 6 3-18x44mm - Bump This!

Has anyone seen the new Leupold Mark 6 model:

I'm thinking if the magnification could be bumped to 2 to 3 times it would make a great F-Class scope. Making the range somewhere between x6-x36 and x9-x52. You could go the whole hog and bump it to x15-x90 and it might still work with a lot of mirage

Objective Lens - 44mm - don't see a problem unless you're shooting in the twilight.

If Leupold could just bring out a VX-6 version with the corresponding price tag you could justify getting the scope bumped and the reticle modified.

I think the March 3-24x42mm FFP comes close at 640g.

Is there anything else with FFP in the weight range and target category that comes to mind?

So you're the market for the Hensoldt Zeiss 6-24 with the 72mm objective lens. My right eye is now worse than my left, so I'm considering shooting left handed soon.

Damn! I've never thought of that, that would be so much better. I'm not sure about adjustable mounts but I reckon a super fine sharpie pen and a ruler could do a cross hair plus dot reticle.

Back on topic, Im not a fan of tactical style scopes on target rifles- mainly because the crosshair is too busy for me. I like a standard fine crosshair and dot in the middle or the nightforce double dot reticle. Less cluttered. I wind up elevation and windage (estimate) before sighters, then after the first one adjust and from there hold off. Something simple is what I like so I can have an aiming point to go with. If the hold off is wrong then im not reading the conditions properly (common problem that happens more than I prefer)

The NXS, T24 and Sightron seem to be proving themselves tracking wise- this would have to go through all that as well.

Also the 34mm rings arent a common item- a bloke here who just bought a march has been waiting for rings for ages and they keep sending 30mm ones. Honestly there was nothing wrong with his NXS as he shot quite a few 120's in club shoots. But each to thier own.

I'm definitely not a big fan of a cluttered reticle but I'd like to see one through a FFP scope. Sure you have everything there at full magnification but once you start to back it off the definition starts to disappear. With the right combination of thick and thin lines or circles I think you could make it work.

John I sincerely hope yours stays at "only a little bit of light for the moment", mine's an absolute nuisance and getting worse.
