AOS Microsight

#1 Postby Sambo » Sun Apr 15, 2012 9:49 am

I tried one of the new AOS Microsights yesterday and I was extremely underwhelmed.

I tried it at 1000 yds in conjunction with a 0.3 eagle eye and I could barely make out the aiming mark. I had to take it out.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to use them? So far suggestions include:
Don't use it with an eagle eye
Try closing the non-sighting eye when shooting (which I don't want to do)
Need to have the peep opened to at least 1.5 mm

So my plan is to try it next week at 300 yds without the eagle eye. But at the moment I think it will be going back in the shop.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sam

It appears they aren't designed to work with a dioptre. Have a look at this link (I believe that you'll need to log into the forum as a guest first): http://www.usrifleteams.com/lrforum/ind ... ntry106088

Thanks John. Plenty of info on there.

It looks like the eagle eye is the culprit. I only use a 0.3 past 600 yds, so the microsight might be a short range item only. It will have to be a pretty special effect for me to give up the eagle eye on long ranges.

I wonder if a rear diopter would work?
