2206H VS 2208 in 308s
AS either powder is allowed to be used in full bore or standard F class, which ones do you prefer. I have always used 2208 as it is good for velocity ,but others have said it burns too dirty. What are the preferences for 308s out their. 2206H for its cleaner burning or 2208 for its better velocity. Or for any other reasons.

2206H/2208
A number of shooters at Wingham RC have played with 06H after 08 and we seem to get good results. My 31" Border gives 3050fs and real tight groups with 45gn2206H and is the load of choise. 06H is good in the 6BR too, but the load of 33gn 2209 given by Tony Z has to be seen to be beleived. We have tried 2206H under heaver pills upto and including 200gn SMK,s with interesting results. It maybe the powder of choise for .308W, why else would they make it?

308 loads
Rod, Sorry about the late post, but here is my 2 bobs worth. I have played with the powders mentioned, and my favourite is 43.5 gns of AR2206, with 155 Sierras jumping 15thou and CCI BR primers with Winchester cases, and 42.5gns using Lapua cases. speed is around the 2950fps with a Krieger 30" barrel, and accuracy from 300m - 900m is superb.
I've come back to this load with every 308 (3 No) I've owned, and it has been the preferred load in all rifles. Works with Dyer projectiles also sitting 5 thou off the land.
