Bartman,
I have a standard pac-nor 284wn chamber. I have been loading the 162 amax to just touch the lands and at 2800fps they have been very accurate. I have only put 100-150 rounds through the rilfe so its early days. I am sure i will play with the oal but for now i am just shooting it.

i started running and working up the velocity with 2209 because i had more of it than 2213SC and was surprised with the accuracy. At 50m i was getting 1 hole groups. After the first 50 rounds i took it out and shot steel at 500m and 1000y and it was great. I was plannign to switch to 2213SC but with 2209 i was gettign good groups and a single digit spread over 5 shots. I was able to get the velocity close to 2900 but i was getting pressure signs.
i have used it once at 700y and it performed well in the wind. i shot 3 or 4 supers on the first run and had issues with my bipod on the second half and i dropped quite a few points. I am at the point where i have almost given up on using a harris bipod.

i have a reamer with 0.251 freebore.
have just had a chamber done with a friend's reamer with 0.220 freebore.
the difference in oal with the bullet touching the throat is 0.020.
the reason for this is that the dimension is nominal, and in the case of freebore is very hard to get closer than +/- 0.005 in the real world.
the 0.220 freebore is as short as i would go if using 180 vld bergers in terms of donut avoidance. jumping them would need a longer leade.
it is good for 175 sierras and 162 amax, but you could get away with 0.200 freebore. for them, no doubt the 180 hybrid would also be good at 0.200.
