Hi all
For all the knowledge out there, which would be a good leade angle on a reamer, for the SMK 183 grains
According to Sierra the projectile has a 1.5 degree matching most match chambers ???
I have heard 2, 2.5 and even 3 degrees are now better options.
Thanks in advance.

Sierra made it for that angle, they did the testing.
They have the facilities to test all this, underground range and I think they know more than us

In effect the Sierra 183 bullet is actually a hybrid bullet. Hybrid bullets will work in a wide range of chamber lead angles. Vld bullets on the other hand prefer steeper angle leads.

True Keith, but its not a forgiving bullet, most swear at it.
The ones that have it working that I've seen have been 1.5 degree leads, which is what sierra designed it for

That may be true, but I know first hand that the 183SMK does work in chambers with steeper lead angles.
